UPDATE Q1 2026 - Requesting 8.5mil GIV for 6 more months of GIVpower rewards
Hey Giveth fam!
Our 5th 6-month period of GIVpower staking incentives has closed and we’re late on an extension!
Current program ended: December 23, 2025
Request: Top up staking incentives on Optimism & Gnosis Chain for 6 more months until July 23, 2026
Request amount: 8,500,000 GIV
From: GIVgarden bucket (controlled by GIV holders)
Justification
According to our dune dashboard, the amount of GIV staked over the last 6 months has relatively plateaued. And to make this fast and easy, I am proposing to just extend the rewards with the same total amount we did the last 6 month period (8.5M GIV) but instead of having the amounts increase linearly, we will just keep the same rewards amount each 2 week period.
In this spreadsheet on the GIVpower Jan '26 tab, I calculated the amounts for each notify reward period that we will set up and execute as soon as possible.
I am also proposing to keep the same distribution across chains, namely:
- 75% on Optimism
- 25% on Gnosis
Conclusions
This proposal is asking GIV token holders for permission to:
- Use 8.5M GIV to extend GIVpower staking rewards on Optimism & Gnosis Chain from January 7-July 23, 2026 (75%/25% on Optimism/Gnosis)
Since the current incentives has already ended, we will set up an extension as soon as possible while simultaneously following the governance process. If the community has change requests and a vote passes to confirm them, we will make changes to the program at that time.
Please leave your thoughts and feedback here and if there are no changes, I will post a vote to ratify this on chain within 5 business days.

I’m a small holder of GIV always that I can I stake it for the longest amount, there’s a certain type of user who will be interested into doing so, i think incentivizes quality time from curators and donors and shows that Giveth is thinking long term
