DAO Ops Season 5 Proposal

DAO Ops is BACK for its 5th Season to keep the Giveth DAO healthy and operational. On top of our critical operations role such as payroll and contributor support, we hope to spend some time this season injecting some fun and opportunities for contributor bonding as we close out the year 2024.

Season 4 Review

We’ll cover in this section an update on each of our deliverables as well as our final spending breakdown for the previous season.

Deliverables Retrospective

Distributed 232,159 GIV from Praise dished March 1st - June 30th 2024.

Maintain Voting Systems & Multisig Needs DONE ✅ Deployed new multisigs to handle needs for Base and zkEVM chain integrations.

We also upgraded Snapshot to consider only GIVpower and switched to Shutterized Voting.
Manage Clockify & Time Reports DONE ✅ Handled Clockify permissions requests. General review on accuracy of project/WG tagging of entries. Processed expense reimbursements. Created reports for leads to review hours. Created WG spending review based on Clockify data.

Handled redistribution of allocatable hours and time-off requests.
Manage Giveth Buddy System DONE ✅ We successfully facilitated 10 buddy review calls and implemented newly developed review forms, which now include more quantitative questions for enhanced effectiveness. Additionally, we maintained an up-to-date buddy review call tracker to ensure accurate monitoring throughout the quarter.
Treasury Management DONE ✅ Held out in Stake Together pool with our ETH until the bitter end, needed to sell near 100% of treasury assets to cover ongoing costs of organization.

DAO Quality Score (DQS)

The DAO Quality Score is an aggregated measure of how we’re doing as a DAO, based on contributor feedback. This quality score is measured across an average of ~6 months worth of responses, the duration of the given season plus the 3 months that preceded it

This metric is a useful “vibe check” on how we’re DAOing. We’ve taken this information based on quantitative data received from the self-review form, typically filled out before a buddy call. You can see the full data set of anonymous information here.

Season 5 Overview

This section will outline our initiatives, deliverables and estimated budget for Season 5.

Make Giveth Fun Again (MGFA)

We took a new approach to season planning for DAO Ops this time around. We reviewed all feedback given to the Giveth organization from the self-review forms and extracted all the points that would be within our grasp in DAO Ops to act upon.

The #1 feedback we received as an organization was to improve our culture, provide opportunities for contributors to connect and foster a fun work environment.

While maintaining our critical tasks to keep the DAO running and healthy we also will experiment with ways to Make Giveth Fun Again! For Season 5 this is our motto.

Proposed Scopes

There are 3 possible scopes that DAO Ops can take in the coming Season, each with different deliverables and budget. The Season Snapshot vote will dictate the scope of this working group, depending on it’s signaled priority amongst other working groups, as decided by the Giveth DAO.

Next Steps

This forum post will remain up and open for advice until all other Working Groups Proposals entering this Season have met minimum advice process. After that we will move to a Snapshot vote to decide the priorities of the Giveth DAO for the next 3 months.

When we have the outcome of the Snapshot vote we will meet as DAO Stewards to finalize the scopes of all WGs based on the available Season budget.
