Data Analysis & Breakdown
The Loving on Public Goods QF Round marks another milestone in Giveth’s journey using COCM (Cluster Matching) for quadratic funding distribution.
COCM ensures:
• A more democratic allocation of matching funds
• Reduced effects of Sybil attacks & collusion
• A stronger impact from diverse donor participation

’Match per unique donor’ is the matching divided by the total number of unique addresses (regardless of score) that donated to the project.
The ‘Match per unique donor’ metric is interesting since COCM rewards donors who support a diverse set of projects. This means that projects that have a higher “match per unique donor” had a donor base that supported a broader range of projects.
Community Questions – Answered!
We saw some common questions in previous rounds, so let’s clear the air right now:
Why is my actual matching different from the estimated matching I saw during the round?
- The estimated matching on Giveth is a rough estimation based on the donations made so far during the round, and calculated used the basic quadratic funding formula. To calculate the actual matching per project, we use COCM.
- COCM prioritizes diverse donations. If your donors only supported your project, the matching impact is lower. Encourage your supporters to donate to multiple projects next time to get a better boost!
How can my project get a bigger match next time?
- Get more donors, not just bigger donations
- Make sure your donors also donate to other projects that they care about
- Grow your community reach to attract a broader donor base

This forum post stays open for 3 business days for feedback & questions.
