The funds for paying people in General Magic were out of Griff’s pocket. Many of the General Magic contributors (Magicians) have been providing support and contributions to Giveth for months now, and Marko since August 2020. General Magic is proposing a reimbursement equivalent to all the hours worked by Magicians to support Giveth. You may refer to the details here: GM Services for Giveth - Google Tabellen
Delivered services:
Design, Communications, User Testing, Hiring/Check-ins, HR support, Accounting, Administration, GIVbacks calculation scripts, Giveth dashboard, GIVeconomy front-end, GIVeconomy PM, Development Giveth.io, DAO Stewardship, PM, Giveth Swag Shop
I appreciate all of the support from General Magic. The value added by each team member has been instrumental, and it’s hard to imagine launching both giveth.io and the GIV economy without them. I also really appreciate @Griff investing $100k+ of his own funds with no promise of reimbursement. You’ve got my vote!
To my knowledge Lauren was never onboarded into GM so I don’t understand how the work she did (while extremely, extremely valuable) could be reimbursed under the umbrella of an org she didn’t work for.
While she didn’t officially join General Magic, I paid her for doing work for TEC and working a lot of extra hours for Giveth on top of her Giveth salary…
It was sort of a short term payment increase until the GIVeconomy launched and now all her payments will come straight from Giveth. I think I should get reimbursed for it, I put it in this bucket because it was left out of the Giveth Bucket.
It’s really an accounting artifact, we tracked this payment in the GM spreadsheet even tho she wasnt part of GM.
I think I should get reimbursed for it tho, we applied a % to it, so I am not getting reimbursed for the TEC contributions… only the extra hours she put into Giveth.
