Dapp Working Group Proposal

The Dapp is the flagship product of Giveth, it is the main entry point for most of our users and the best donation platform, ever. Its maintenance and growth is critical to the success of Giveth as an organization.

We are responsible for not only development of the giveth.io platform, but also it’s marketing, growth, communications, user support and design. Our focus will be on the experience of projects and donors using the website along with attracting more donations and new high quality projects.

The Dapp WG will also incorporate minor products and features lacking ownership such as the Givers PFP, $nice token program and the Giveth swag shop.

Our high level goals are mostly guided by two core metrics: Season Total Donation Volume (STDV) and Season Total Verified Projects (STVP). We will focus on a few different areas in order to boost these core metrics and to keep the show running:

  1. Technical maintenance & scalability of the Dapp :wrench:

    This implies spending time resolving technical debts, keeping our code base functional and organized. Also as our platform continues to grow making sure our services and integrations can handle increased loads and keep the website running smooth. This will mostly be handled by the Development and DevOps Chapters

  2. Effective growth via marketing and communications :seedling:

    Creating a focused and effective effort to grow our user base is our greatest challenge. We have a fantastic dapp thanks to the hard work of our developers, we need to reach the masses and we’ll need a big brain growth strategy to get there. This will imply efforts from Comms, Design and Development.

  3. Improving UX and incorporating the best innovations in web3 :test_tube:

    As the web3 ecosystem continues to build new products and innovations into the tech layer we should be continually watching for ways to improve the user experience, build better and stay up to date with the latest technology.

  4. Integrating features from web3 partnerships :handshake:

    As our brand reaches further into the ecosystem we will continually receive opportunities to integrate with other organizations. We may receive grant or fundraising opportunities that requires the Dapp to build or incorporate a new feature. We should be aware and budget accordingly to build our ecosystem partnerships and receive external funding.

The Dapp WG plans to have no termination date. As long as giveth.io exists it will need a team to keep it running.

  • Launch 2 marketing campaigns with the objective of strengthening Giveth brand reputation and increasing social media followers.
  • First draft of a Giveth Impact Report, detailing the impact generated by the platform as a virtual publication for donors.
  • Major design and copy text changes to improve messaging and increase daily & monthly active users.
  • Perform a full user test of the Dapp for all features and test scenarios

This proposal will remain open for advice process for 7 days! After which we will move to Snapshot voting :zap: where GIV :giv: holders may vote on any 3 of the budget & deliverables options as well as a NO option, which will effectively halt the work of this working group.
