DAO Ops Season 4 Proposal

We’re proud to be running another Season of DAO Ops! Here to serve the DAO; keeping our day to day operations running smooth, supporting contributors to succeed and tracking the DAO’s finances.

Season 4 of DAO Ops will run for 3 months from the time the Season Snapshot vote passes. In this post we’ll cover the status of our deliverables & spending from Season 3 as well as our proposed plans & budget for the next season.

Season 3 Review

In this section we will break down our deliverables and provide an update on it’s status and any relevant information. We’ll also cover our spending in Season 3 and compare it to our estimated budget we covered in the previous Season proposal.

Centralized Accounting DONE! :white_check_mark: Y’all got paid right? @freshelle publishes compensation summaries for every payment period
Distribute Vesting DONE! :white_check_mark: The Q1 2024 Vesting Distribution went out for Q1 2024, that’s a wrap!
Conflict Resolution DONE! :white_check_mark: Provided 4 separate Gravity Support consultations for contributors.

Started Leadership Review process based on increased number of critical contributor feedback.
Manage Giveth buddy system DONE! :white_check_mark: Buddy calls happened (and are still happening). The new buddy bot was used to automate sending reminders to contributors to gather feedback and schedule their calls
Maintain Voting Systems & Multisig Needs DONE! :white_check_mark: We handled the migration of the GIVgarden and nrGIV DAOs into multisigs. Also creating new multisigs as needed by other WGs and as we grow to new chains.
Treasury Management DONE! :white_check_mark: We’ve been staking 40.5 ETH into Stake Together, generating 0.25 ETH worth of rewards to date.

Almost all of the rewards from RetroPGF3 have been spent, while we still maintain a ~$50k position of ETH/OP on Univ3 using https://www.gamma.xyz/.

Our GIV/DAI pool on Optimism Univ3 has generated nearly $800 in fees since inception! Thanks $NICE.

Distribute Equity DONE! :white_check_mark: We distributed our first batch of equity payments for May 2024, we will continue doing it every month, want in? GIV Equity Preferences (only for Giveth contributors)

In the table below we compared the forecasted Season spending with the actual funding based on available data in Clockify. The actual S3 cost may have a slight variance since we are actually still in S3. We took all the relevant Clockify data plus projected projects to make our closest spending assumptions for S3.

DAO Quality Score (DQS)

We’d like to introduce a new metric into DAO Ops - the DAO Quality Score - an aggregated measure of how we’re doing as a DAO, based on contributor feedback. This quality score is measured across an average of ~6 months worth of responses, the duration of the given season plus the 3 months that preceded it

This metric is a useful “vibe check” on how we’re DAOing. We’ve taken this information based on quantitative data received from the self-review form, typically filled out before a buddy call. You can see the full data set of anonymous information here.

Season 4 Deliverables & Budget

There are 3 possible scopes that DAO Ops can take in the coming Season, each with different deliverables and budget. The Season Snapshot vote will dictate the scope of this working group, depending on it’s signaled priority amongst other working groups, as decided by the Giveth DAO.

*The Leadership Review Process we expect a notable amount of time from all leaders and contributors to engage in this process as well as the HR / Conflict Res. team in guiding DAO members though each step and making sure leaders get support and are accountable to create actionable items to improve, if necessary.

Next Steps

This forum post will remain up and open for advice until all other Working Groups Proposals entering this Season have met minimum advice process. After that we will move to a Snapshot vote to decide the priorities of the Giveth DAO for the next 3 months.

When we have the outcome of the Snapshot vote we will meet as DAO Stewards to finalize the scopes of all WGs based on the available Season budget.
